“Supported by” - Now really what does that really mean when you read a feedback post from a record label somewhere on the web. Amongst many things in the music industry running a record label now days seems to be quite the thing for new or established producers. To some, like me, it is a must, I have just started mine thus making this observation. When a dj plays your tune, there is an immense feedback, depending on who that DJ was. Classics and Anthems become what they are because of the number of times that tune is played out through out the globe. Labels work on their releases based on many required obligations and one of them is having their music sent to other DJs for feedback. If a DJ likes the tune, and he likes enough that he decides to include it on his next gigs, that is the best feedback ever, but other then this type of feedback there is also the “I like it but I won’t play it” type of feedback where basically reads what it means “I like it” “Nice stuff” or “great production” and these, or at least 99% of them do not play the tune.
Now days labels use different types of tools for marketing their product, using quotes is a very powerfull and it has always been the best one. Getting quotes directly from these DJs can give a great exposure to both artists and label. But on the rush to success labels choose to show fake information to receive the public’s attention. I was able to talk to a few people running their new little businesses and most of them told me “Hey man, they don’t have the time anymore” - on this matter, we all know the amount of music DJs receive but that is the lamest excuse and I was pretty shocked.
So the label start their promo and weeks later before they release the tune in stores they upload e preview on soundcloud with few comments and quotes from DJs with the famous tag “supported by”. What does that really mean? Does it mean those DJs actually played that tune? Unfortunately not. I think if a DJ only comments on the production but does not actually play the tune, “supported by” does not fit with with the description, might we start a new one then!? Even the words “supported by” should not be the right ones, “played by” could do way better.
Hi everyone, i hope everybody had a great start this year. Before hand, thank you so much for your support throughout 2011. It was a great year for me, gaining experience and knowledge.
Some release updates and a little studio update.
Remixes on the works, one i particularly have been enjoying working on is Manuel Sofia’s “1303”, i had the pleasure of working with some very old synths on this one, very techno-ish, soon out on Argentina’s Noizen. Another one i’ve been doing finals is one from Roger Martinez, this one is got a house flavor, really groovy and deep. Roger’s “Discovery” is due on Vapour. I’m also remixing for Somebody’s Story again, a tune from Guy Mantzur called “Epics” haven’t figured out what to do yet, but i have some ideas floating around in my mind. There’s also a tune from Darin Epsilon & Tom Sela called “Lapis Lazuli” and it will be released on Flow Vinyl.
Recently i have finished a remix for Proton’s Exoplanet, tune called “You’r Sorrow is my Despair” and it’s due end of Jan - Feb, pretty deep this one. Also finished a remix for Indigo Records Katrecel - Cold Warriors, out on the 24th of Jan.
Also recently, i had the pleasure of having one of my great music mentors, Charlie May, remix one of my tracks, a true blessing. “Fringe” was purely inspired by the TV series “Fringe” from Fox, which i was introduced by a good old friend back in 2010. I’m very obsessed with the show. The release will be on Indigo Records including some mixes from Juan Deminicis, Tim Penner and myself. I’m really exited about this one, as the original became really thematic, making music inspired by film is simply fantastic. Curious to what all of you will think.
Currently i have a new original in the making right now, it’s called “Leave it on the Shelf”. I was able to record vocals in a good friend’s dungeon studio in São Paulo, it’s a tripy dark house tune with loads of bass lines, ocean deep! Will post a preview on my Soundcloud soon. Also making an EP for Proton Music, it include 2 tracks, Roots / Fruits. Roots is a classic progressive house tune and while Fruits is the result of Roots in a new redesigned style, a glimpse at what the electronic music revolution is showcasing now days. Recently i have remixed a track from Apparat’s “The Devil’s Walk”. The tune is one of my favorites, really cought my emotions in deep. This one is gonna go up on my Soundcloud as a Free Download as soon as i get a word from Mute as to it being a free download on my page.
Now here’s more great news. I have been working on my label for the past year or so, and i can finally say that “Konstrukt” is all systems go! 1st release will be my original “We Are All Here” in 3 different mixes. Promos go out next week. More info on the label pretty soon!
Packing up for Recife next week, gonna get my self under a rock for the next 2 months together with Georg on a new project and more studio time.
Thats pretty much it right now, for more info, links bellow.
Have a wonderful 2012.

Who started this journey some time long ago at age 17 in the late 1990s disc jockeying Progressive electronic music and Breakbeat back in Miami where he lived for many years.
With a busy schedule in the studio, Daniel has giving life to new records that have been on a buzz in the scene lately, like the long waited "Belvedere" smashed by Sasha back in December 2010 at Ministry of Sound. This melodic tech house gem is in the same release box with the thematic "Aquatika" - a melancholic modern techno banger that has received early support from Charlie May.
On a conquest to redesign, reinvent and recreate, Daniel continues on with producing, or "drawing" his pieces, giving the dance floors a cinematic sound experience

// Adidas +10
Adidas launched its football marketing campaign on October 10, 2005, in the build up to the opening of the FIFA World Cup being held in Germany, June, 2006. The heart of the campaign is the concept of “+10″ -- the connection between and individual and his or her team. ‘Recruitment’ is one of the phases in the +10 Campaign. Ten players from around the world are sent onto the streets with a few hours to gather ten willing countrymen to form a team to play in a national match. They have the challenge of selecting, trialling and equipping the team in the build up to the soccer game played that evening. Adidas released a 45 second TV teaser to promote the recruitment series.
